ASSESSMENT OF THE LEVEL OF MATURITY IN ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT: A CASE STUDY IN AN ELECTRIC POWER COMPANY

The article aimed to identify and analyze the main risks present in the supply chain of a large company in the electric power sector, demonstrating how the main risks evolve to maturity within the framework of the main enterprise risk management (ERM) practices. To this end, the research applied the risk management model proposed by Oliva (2016), which highlights the business environment and its agents and relationships. To achieve the objective and obtain the research findings, we identified the agents and the risks connected in the relationships of this large electric power company with other agents in the business environment, as well as the practices adopted by the company to mitigate corporate risks. The research successfully shed light on the eight main types of risks to which the company is subject, the agents and risks in the relationships, and finally, the level of maturity in GRC. The study is relevant for its theoretical contribution to the field of management science by expanding the concept of risk management in electric power companies, integrating agents, relationships, and risks into the analysis in a systemic manner. Additionally, it is also worth noting that as a managerial contribution, the study offers a practical tool for managers to assess, analyze, and mitigate risks more effectively, enhancing the company's resilience and sustainability.
