Uso de los Espacios Urbanos para los Niños: Una Revisón

Resumen

El espacio al aire libre ha demostrado ser importante para el desarrollo infantil en la promoción de capacidades físicas, sociales y afectivas. Los cambios sociales, económicos y espaciales, sin embargo, han intervenido en el comportamiento del uso de tales espacios, pudiendo traer daños a la salud y al desarrollo de los niños. Esta revisión bibliográfica tuvo como objetivo investigar los factores descritos por los investigadores como intervinientes en el uso de tales espacios. Fueron analizados los estudios publicados entre el período del año de 2005 hasta julio de 2010 en dos bases de datos (Science direct y Psycnet). Los resultados fueron agrupados en categorías, siendo que son los tres los principales ejes temáticos que dirigen la investigación de la relación entre los niños y los espacios urbanos: 1. el contexto socio‑físico del los espacios, 2. la opinión parental del barrio y de los vecinos, y 3. la opinión del niño que usan los espacios destinados al ocio; un predominio del primer eje fue encontrado. Los resultados indican que existen varios factores intervinientes, entre ellos, las condiciones de planificación, factores psicosociales y físicos. Sin embargo se verificó poca atención al estudio de la relación niños y espacios al aire libre. Esto generó datos poco conclusivos.
