Leitura da arquitetura contemporânea da Avenida Paulista através de cinco edifícios representativos das últimas décadas

Abstract

This work makes a reading of the Paulista Avenue contemporary architecture through its five representative buildings of the last decades. Starting from the choice of five vertical emblematic buildings a brief architectural contextualization of each building and its description characterizing each building with pictures and drawings were made. The architectural reading was made using the methodology presented in the book “Arquitectura: temas de composición” (CLARK; PAUSE, 1984). Some brief comments based on conceptual references found in the book “Tendencias de la arquitectura Contemporánea” (CEJKA, 1993) were being done during the architectural reading. The final analysis was made being applied the concepts of post-modern and the Modern Architecture concepts presented in the book “Arquitetura & teorias” (STROETER, 1986). The conclusion looked for positionning the five buildings inside the picture of the contemporary architecture tendencies, showing the strong relations with the Modern Movement.
