Clusters as sustainable urban regeneration strategic instrument
Keywords:
Clusters, reestruturação produtiva, Regeneração urbana,Abstract
With recent economic transformations, towards more flexibility and dynamism, former industrial cities are now post-industrial metropolises in the post-fordist economy. These metropolises, in many situations, reach a state of deterioration in terms of quality of life and urban space that requires imminent intervention. In the search for new strategies and with the concern for urban development, clusters have been selected as an instrument with transforming potential as regards this chaotic state. They can be generating poles for the requalification of areas undergoing productive restructuration, since they have a strong impact on their surroundings. This work intends to understand how clusters can be considered active components of public policies aimed at urban regeneration.Downloads
