Specifities of Academic Research in the Fields of Projective Practice

Academic research in disciplines of design practice is still fragile, and its development, critical for the production of knowledge on architecture and habitat, necessarily involves the adoption of strategies and validation criteria consistent with this specific discipline. In this sense, we understand that it is essential to widen and deepen the discussion about epistemic issues of the discipline; and to develop critical testing of strategies, methods, formats and media, in collective areas of reflection and production. In this paper, we propose to reflect, from a contemporary epistemological perspective on the fields of knowledge of projective disciplines, the specificities of the project as a way of thinking - as well as the logic of knowledge production in the professional practice of the architect; and, finally, the relations between profession and discipline. In this way, we intend to approach the formulation of research strategies consistent with the specificities of the field.
