Memory, manegement, cultural policies and inclusion in the case of Vila Itororó

This article seeks, through instruments such as bibliographic research, field research and reading of images and maps, to understand the protection process of Vila Itororó, in São Paulo, in order to understand if a participatory project methodology was applied to promote the inclusion of the population. It is interesting to explain the historical and cultural value of the town that made it the object of cataloging and how the proposal to change its use arose, which was originally residential and began to serve as a leisure space. It is understood that linking the protection of historical and cultural assets to urban planning can generate conditions for social inclusion and the improvement of the quality of urban life if the historical and cultural heritage is given a value and a built function together with the population.
