In order to carry out this integrative literature review, we selected 43 scientific articles that reflect, analyze and show empirical data on how social isolation brought behavioral and mental health consequences, impacting the development of children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This fact, with a long-term impact, will require a new organization involving the school, the family and public policies.
