Experiências do cinema de guerrilha no Quilombo do América

Abstract

The production and use of audiovisual in and out of the classroom, the social cinema in the communities, and the routes of a black and quilombola cinema in the state of Pará, Amazon, constitute the dialogic perspective of this article, which presents and discusses artistic and pedagogic audiovisual methodologies in the process of involvement of the youth of a black rural community, which led to the creation of the movies “O Quilombo É Meu Lugar, A Minha Casa”, and “A Visita do Padroeiro”, resulting of the partnership between the FICCA – International Movie Festival of the Caeté Region, and the ARQUIA -  Quilombola Remnants Association of the America, located in the municipality of Bragança, in the second largest state of Brazil, between the months of April and December of 2021. The movies were produced in the context of the VI and VII edition of the festival, period which coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, who intensely affected the quilombola populations, but never broke their spirit of resistence. The participants indicated that the Guerrilla Cinema through the production and propagation of audiovisual projects has been important to the quilombola empowerment and the fight against structural racism. The audiovisual production through the perspective of the Black Cinema can be construed as an innovative means of action research and social transformation.
