Woman in Loco
The experiment of the female body

This article relates theoretical reflections to a sensitive experience of repositioning the body in space, based on notions of the field of architecture articulated to philosophical and sociological understandings, in order to attribute to the female body a role as a critical agent. Agrest (2006) points out the condition of inequality between men and women in the scenario of traditional architecture, seeking to find ways out of the historical denial of their gender. The reflection of Heloísa Buarque de Hollanda (2018) and to the discourse of Djamila Ribeiro (2017), consist of an essential theorical support to recognize places of speech and their contributions to foster an empirical study of the composition of plots of women's rebellion in the clash with the urban context. This experimentation establishes the cut in the female body, with the production of the artists Valie Export, Esther Ferrer and Francesca Woodman, as aesthetic practices that value art, city and politics.
