Abstract

Architects have a fascination for the glass, as curtain walls are present on every city in the world, regardless of the local weather and the usage of buildings. Glass allows the integration between the interior and the exterior and vice-versa, playing an important role in making an architecture project coming to life, useful. The solution for the equation that involves: envelope; residential buildings, glass, weather, comfort and energy conservation on 21st century is taking advantage of the transparency qualities and resistance of the glass in order to create envelopes fully adapted to the local climatic reality without harming the environmental comfort of the residential buildings users, focused on the market from São Paulo.
