This is an essay focusing the systematization of the São Paulo history periods, defining the “paulistano” citizen along the XIX Century, since the 1834 Additional Act until the 1929 crisis. It examines the passage from poverty at the end of the colonial period toward the “economic innocence” (R.Morse) and, with the coffee toward the urban-industrial development and its implications.Downloads
