The article focuses on the different ways of thinking the city of Rio de Janeiro relating to plans, town planning norms and urban projects, from the mid-1920s to the late 1960s. During that period, Rio de Janeiro was the object of the urban plans Agache (1930) and Doxiadis (1965), oriented to the entire space of the city, which attempted to establish a logical planning that might integrate other interventions. D. A. Agache from 1927 to 1930 prepared the Renewal, Extension and Beautification Plan. In 1960, the Capital was transferred from Rio de Janeiro to Brasília and the Federal District became the State of Guanabara and the Doxiadis Plan was concluded in 1965. Other initiatives are considered: The Decree. 6000/ 1937, that consolidated the zoning as the form of regulation of land use as a substitute for planning and, in the same form, the Extension and Transformation of the City Plan in 1937, that included a series of road project.Downloads
