Sustainability and Design of Urban Furniture in Public Spaces: Is it Possible?

Urban furniture is part of an integrated urban system that interferes in the usage of public space that is directly related to the city infrastructure, apropriation of public spaces and daily urban activities. This issue aims to discuss how environmental impacts are concerned to the design of urban furniture referring the principles of urban sustainability and eco design as a means to the assembly and socialization of those public spaces within a specific urban context.
