A Lispectormania nos Estados Unidos: uma análise a partir de The Complete Stories

ABSTRACT: The present study aims, based on an epitextual analysis, to observe how the literary work The Complete Stories was received in the year of its release (New Directions Publisher, 2015) in the United States, taking the renowned newspaper The New York Times as its research scope. This investigation based on the reviews published on the press occurs because one way to measure the relevance of a work is by checking how it was received from the perspective of the press in a given context (GUERINI and SALES, 2022). For this analysis, we will consider Genette's (2009) concept of epitext. As a result, we have a writer who is presented mainly with mentions of her appearance and is constantly compared to other, primarily, male writers.
