Abstract

This article arises from the following question: how can we contribute so that studies on literature, undertaken in the academy, can effectively reach the classroom? Based on this reflection, and based on theories of cultural studies, widely discussed in postgraduate courses in Letters, an analysis of the poem Os estatutos do homem, by Thiago de Mello, is proposed, with the aim of offering a model of activities that allow the teacher and the student to contemplate on the world through the text and in dialogue with their contexts.
