IMAGINÁRIOS INFANTIS SOBRE A CIDADE: UMA ALFABETIZAÇÃO CULTURAL

This research is about the image of a city in the children’s imagination, based on their drawings and reports about their way from home to school. This paper is aimed at improving heritage education in the classrooms, as well as creating roots and expanding a new mentality, based on the theoretical and methodological approach adopted by different authors who studied collective memories, as well as the cities’ preservation and safeguard. In this sense, we reached a significant relation between the children’s drawings (mental maps) and narratives. On the one hand, there are fascinating graphical expressions and, on the other hand, we see the transformation from an already known journey into a cultural instruction.
