This article intend to analyze the transformation of the program and the spaces of museums in the last seventy years in Brazil from the observation of two institutions: Museu das Missões and Fundação Iberê Camargo. Both are in the same state, Rio Grande do Sul, and are designed to be museum by renowned architects- Lucio Costa and Álvaro Siza, respectively. However, they differ in the same way as the demands and needs related to the time of consolidation of each one. Based on these differences, it is possible to observe important concepts that apply in the current discussion about museums. Key-words: museum; arquitecture; contemporary.Downloads
