Abstract

Here we look for the meanders and the connections between the characters and the initial period of the University of Brasilia. Also, we look for the active involvement of big names of the architecture at the time, both in the political and intellectual support of the creation, as well as in the academic involvement. Although in its initial formation, the course is essentially composed of architects from the Rio school, the local context and the social issues of the moment, promote an intense debate. On the one hand, there is an immense desire to innovate, on the other, the questions and criticisms boil both in the construction and in the teaching of architecture. Conducive to experimentation, the course of architecture and urbanism is born with graduation and post-graduation.
