Abstract

Study of the novel O som do rugido da onça by Micheliny Verunschk, which contrasts two worldviews: modern disenchantment and the enchantment of non-Western ontologies. Drawing on the notion of enchantment as explored by Jane Bennett, the work discusses the relationship between ethics, enchantment, and the vitality of the nonhuman world. It also investigates how  OOO challenges modern categories of subject and object, proposing new ways of coexisting in an interconnected world.
