Antirracismo e antiautoritarismo para crianças em Ruth Rocha e Simone Mota

In this article we undertake a comparative analysis of two works of children’s literature: Ruth Rocha’s O que os olhos não veem (1981) and Simone Mota’s Frederico, Frederico… (2021). We discuss the themes of authoritarianism and racism, respectively, examining how these themes are interrelated, along with the solutions these works propose. We emphasize the notion of “underground” meanings and the centrality of readers in noticing and interpreting messages both said and unsaid.
