On three writings in digital literature.
Keywords:
Digital Literature, History, Matter, Reading, BodyAbstract
Considering that digital literature started to address the reader’s bodily dimension since the 2000’s, we suggest that this state of affairs has its provenance in a development line of the material aspect of the literary works. To speculate on the literary-historic sense of this, Giambattista Vico’s, Northrop Frye’s and Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s thoughts are considered, as well as a short journey through the history of digital literature is made, looking on works said to be highlights of this history by researchers of the field. We conclude that digital literature went through an inverted course than the one suggested by Frye for non digital literature when it comes to its formal and material aspects.
