Abstract

This article brings together the results obtained from carrying out post- -doctoral research in the area of Literature, focusing on the field of Literary Studies. This initiative aimed to investigate the dynamics of intermedia reference, a concept by Irina Rajewsky that is present in texts whose plots are based on the layout of the WhatsApp and Instagram applications, published on Wattpad, a virtual literary self-publishing platform. Therefore, the findings obtained, in dialogue with the contributions offered by various scholars in the field, help us to understand the new configurations currently assumed by Literature and also the motivations that drive its production.
