The theory of suspension applied in reading narratives

This article presents a way of analyzing stories based on suspensions. First, there is a theoretical discussion, situating the concept of suspension in narrating, envisioning its temporality and predictability. Then, this theorization is applied in Robson Crusoe, The Castle of Otranto and The Woman in White, seeking to illustrate the protocol and locate specific suspensions. As a result, seventeen types of suspensions were raised.
