AUTOBIOGRAPHIES, BIOGRAPHIES AND CHRONICLES OF PAULINO DE OLIVEIRA

The research of autobiographical and biographical texts encompasses literary and non-literary works, forms of writing present in the specific focus of this article: the Chronicles (2001) of the Brazilian writer Paulino de Oliveira (1899-1992), best known for his legacy as historian and journalist regarding the city of Juiz de Fora, in the state of Minas Gerais. Based on works of Almir de Oliveira (1981; 2001), Paulo Roberto Soares de Oliveira (2015), Christina Ferraz Musse (2008) and James Willian Goodwin Junior (2008), among others, the aim of this study is to discuss how the chronicler recounts the past combining autobiographical and biographical narratives.
