This article is dedicated to the analysis of relations between the West and the East. Based on the proposed theories, we analyze the discursive construction of the notion of Empire, especially about the role of the UN and its ideological basis. We also consider how the discourse of the media engenders the notion of sovereignty of the UN itself and the countries that compose it, especially the United States. We also see how the texts produced by the newspaper build the image of the Evil Empire, or Rogue States, as proposed by Chomsky (1999).
