Abstract

This article describes and analyses micro-constructions in support function in contemporary Italian. More specifically, the micro-constructions [prendere+X], built around the verb "prendere", equivalent to the verb "tomar" in the Brazilian Portuguese (BP). From the principles of the Constructions Grammar, we describe its morphosyntactic configuration and the meanings represented by them; we distinguish the semantic domains instantiated by these microconstructions and we show the differences in form and meaning that these instantiations reveal in relation to their equivalent in BP.
