This paper presents part of the research results from the project Description and Documentation of Varieties of Nheengatu do Amazonas by CNPq (process nº 4825555 / 2013-0) about varieties of this language in three
regions of the state of Amazonas. The aim of the research was to describe the current state of a natural language in its grammatical aspects in the regions where it is still spoken. The theoretical-methodological approach of the research is that of linguistic typology for the study of indigenous languages and ethnographic research for extremely endangered languages, such as Nheengatu, Tupi language, belonging to the Tupi-Guarani family.
