Trastornos Alimentares E Imagen Corporal en la Adolescencia: Un Análisis de la Producción Científica en Psicología

Resumen

El presente estudio tiene por objeto el análisis de la producción científica en psicología con respecto a trastornos alimentares e imagen corporal en adolescentes en el periodo de 2003 a 2007. Para eso, se procedió a la búsqueda informatizada en la base de datos electrónica PsycInfo, utilizando las palabras-claves “imagen”, “trastornos alimentares”, y “adolescencia”. De esa investigación, fueron extraídos resúmenes y complementos, que fueron organizados en categorías temáticas propuestas por Bardin (2008). Los resultados permitieron identificar que el número de publicaciones se mantuvo estable a lo largo de los años del análisis, así como los Estados Unidos y Australia fueron los países que más publicaron. Los estudios empíricos se destacaron y fueron publicados en periódicos especializados del área, entre ellos el Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and prevention y el Eating and Weight Disorders. Entre los temas investigados, hubo destaque para la evaluación de los factores de riesgo para trastornos alimentares, con énfasis en investigación con el sexo femenino, y la población adolescente.
