Abstract

Obesity stigma is defined as the social devaluation of people with overweight and damages health. This article presents the first two steps of an Intervention Mapping process, consisting of the creation of a logic model of the problem and a logic model of change to support the planning of interventions to reduce obesity stigma among health professionals. We conducted a narrative literature review and thematic analysis of interviews with four health managers from the Federal District Department of Health and two experts on the topic. The review explored obesity stigma at the macro, meso and micro levels. The managers emphasized aspects related to intervention feasibility and the experts contributed to project content. The integration of research evidence and the contributions of interviewees increases the chances of feasibility and effectiveness of interventions developed based on the results of this study.
