HISTORY

The Journal Of Psychology: Theory and Practice began in 1999, being linked to the undergraduate Psychology Program at the Mackenzie Presbyterian University and the Postgraduate Program in Human Development Sciences. It maintained its print publication under ISSN 1516-3687 until 2005 and has been published online under ISSN 1980-6906 since 2002.

In 2010, JPTP received the A2 rating in the evaluation by the Brazilian Journal Evaluation System QUALIS Periódicos from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), and this rating has been maintained since then.

In 2013, the journal started categorizing its submissions into sections, edited by researchers with expertise in their respective thematic areas. Since 2017, the journal has adopted bilingual publication, enhancing the international impact of the published articles. In 2021, the journal transitioned to continuous publication, meaning that all accepted articles will be made available online immediately after typesetting by the publisher, without having to wait for the publication of a specific issue.
