When did we speak the truth?
Between Sophists and Philosophers in Antiquity and Information Disorders and Post-Truth in Contemporary Times
Keywords:
sophists, post-truth, desinformationAbstract
The truth, at first glance, may seem obvious, but the informational disturbances of our time, for example, fabricated news or the misuse of truthful information, lead us to question the state of truth in contemporary times, or in other terms, the question of post-truth. This article aims to think about this situation by looking back at the disputes between Greek philosophers and sophists in the 5th century B.C.E., focusing on the sophists' conception of the world. The proposed solution is a multiple concept of truth that takes into account the specificities of each area of knowledge developed by human beings.
