This study aims to identify and analyze the presence of Greek mythology elements in Elisa Lispector’s short story “A cup and a destination,” making use of some concepts about myth, present in the book Myth and reality by Mircea Eliade, and the dialogical question of the eventicity of the being proposed by Mikhail Bakhtin. It seeks to find out how Elisa Lispector re-actualizes the Antigone myth in the context of its protagonist, materialized in the 60s and 70s, the date of the publication of Blood in the sun, the author’s first short story book.
