Abstract

Our experience in the world is immersed in atmospheric relationships, intuitive emotional responses and little rationalized, to other people, groups, situations, objects or spaces. For architectural exercise, understanding the atmospheres, or the way the user feels and relates to the environment, is essential in building identity and creating "places." This article analyzes the communication between people and space, focusing on the diametrical spaces of the house and the outer space, breaking it down into the elements: spatial perception - physical and psychological conditions of perception; atmosphere - reflections on its ontological character following authors of aesthetic philosophy; and finally, architectural vocabulary - its emotional communicability with the user.
