Qualitative Analysis of Empirical Articles of Methods, Techniques and Tools for Innovation

Innovation has been considered as essential to create long-term competitive advantage in business element. However, to encourage and support the process of innovation is still a challenge. In turn, the effective use of methods, techniques and tools for innovation can be an important support to the process of innovation management, increasing your chances of success factor. In this sense, the study presented here consisted of a qualitative analysis of empirical articles related to diffusion and adoption of methods, tools and techniques for innovation. The articles analyzed were obtained through a systematic survey conducted from two databases: Scopus and Web of Science. This systematic survey consisted of seven steps: identification of keywords; searches in databases; filtering of publications; standardization; classification of articles; inclusion of relevant publications; analysis of the articles. As a result we obtained a corpus of ten articles (nine available in full and summary only), in which initially identified the main articles, authors, countries, and journals that have published more and more keywords used. Later, from the analysis allowed himself an overview of empirical qualitative research related to the topic, given the importance of MTF-Is for the innovation process of companies. It is noteworthy that there are still few works on this topic with the approach used in this study, beyond the results are not converging. There was a great diversity of methods, techniques and tools for innovation used by the companies studied. Moreover, we found that the use of MTF-Is it important to increase competitiveness and are mainly used to solve problems in organizations. Noted the need for further studies aiming to systematize the decision making about the choice of an MTF-I for a particular organizational context. Thus, it is expected that this work can serve as a basis for future research on the topic.
