Abstract

This article is an experience report in the discipline of Built Environment Technology in the Architecture and Urban Planning course at the State University of Mato Grosso (Unemat). The course in question is offered in a differentiated teaching modality, a novelty in the context of architectura and urban planning in Mato Grosso. The activity is a pedagogical proposal in the training of architects and urbanists, for the planning and execution of a pizza oven as an experimental laboratory for the discipline, with practice in civil construction, construction sites and other ways of creating space from vernacular techniques. This activity enabled the students to engage with the discipline, contributing to critical thinking about built environment technology in the context of architectura and urban planning.
