Abstract

The present article explores the use of a board game as a playful tool to facilitate the reading and comprehension of short stories by Machado de Assis. Given the difficulties contemporary readers face when interacting with classical texts, especially those of Machado de Assis, the game Rua do Ouvidor was developed with the aim of making the literary experience more accessible and engaging. As a methodological practice, the integration of literary aspects of the stories into a board is developed, creating a dynamic of simulation and competition that brings the player closer to the narrative.
