Reception and integration in the discourse of displaced people in Brazil

The objective of this paper is to analyze, in the light of French Discourse Analysis, life narratives of two migrants/refugees, so as to seize how they report their reception and adaptation to Brazil. The results show that if, on the one hand, the two narrators complain about the hostility with which they were received by some Brazilians, on the other, they emphasize the support of friends and institutions (church, NGOs) in their reception/integration. This reveals a certain inefficiency of the State in proposing public policies that can provide displaced people with a dignified life.
