Abstract

The aim of this study was to search for validity evidences for the Teste Pictórico de Memória. The test was administered to 436 students of both sexes, aged between 10 and 60 years old, all of them attending at classes from second-grades elementary school to college. They were applied the Teste Pictórico de Memória and the Teste de Raciocínio Inferencial. The results showed correlations varying from 0,19 to 0,44 for the three environments that compose the Teste Pictórico de Memória, and correlations varying from 0,40 to 0,56 when considered the total punctuation of the test. As for the extreme groups, the individuals with discharge and low punctuation in the Teste de Raciocínio Inferencial presented differences in the four measures of the Test of Memory. In that way, evidences of validity of competitive criterion and for extreme groups they were verified for the Teste Pictórico de Memória.
