Instrumentos para Avaliar a Imagem Corporal de Mulheres com Câncer de Mama

Resumo

O tratamento do câncer pode afetar negativamente a imagem corporal dos pacientes em vários aspectos: problemas psicossociais, mudanças na aparência e sensoriais. Em mulheres com câncer de mama, a pesquisa em imagem corporal vem demonstrando sua importância, e estão surgindo instrumentos para avaliar esse constructo. O objetivo deste estudo foi fazer um levantamento dos instrumentos existentes para avaliar a imagem corporal de mulheres com câncer de mama e realizar uma análise crítica desses recursos. Foram realizadas pesquisas nas Bases de Dados: Scopus, Web of Science, PsicInfo, Pubmed, Scielo e Bireme. Quatro estudos foram selecionados e a análise dos resultados nos revelou que: nenhum dos instrumentos analisados avalia a dimensão perceptiva da imagem corporal; há uma carência de instrumentos validados no Brasil; alguns instrumentos apresentam métodos estatísticos de validação mais robustos do que outros, mas todos possuem qualidades psicométricas adequadas, se aplicados às populações para a qual foram desenvolvidos.
