THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE IMAGE ABOUT THE ELDERLY ON FACEBOOK

A REFLECTION IN THE LIGHT OF ENUNCIATIVE PRAXIS

Abstract

Assuming that the internet subject has the illusion of freedom, being able to forge and imitate other subjects, we analyze how the collective actor of the “Group Page where we pretend to be confused with technology” constructs and disseminates simulacra about the elderly. The study is theoretically and methodologically supported by French discursive semiotics and its practical developments in dialogue with Bertrand, Barros, Discini, Fiorin, Fontanille, Fontanille and Zilberberg and Greimas and Courtés. We found that, in the simulacra, there is an underlying negative sanction against the elderly internet user and that it is composed of the modal principle of not knowing how to do, not knowing how to operate technologies, being related to diseases and not having digital literacy.
