This article, committed to an implicated semiotics (Schwartzmann; Silva, 2022), is situated within broader debates on racism and its effects on the Black Subject. It addresses the issue of double consciousness to discuss certain characteristics of the Black experience in a racist society, such as the necessity that Black subjects have of managing different simulacra constructed about them. The reflections are based on discursive semiotics and seek to establish a dialogue between the ideas of Du Bois (2021 [1903]), Fanon (2020 [1952]), and Aldama (2023).
