Keywords:
Literatura Juvenil, Neil Gaiman, Jornada da HeroínaAbstract
This article proposes an analysis of Coraline (2003), by Neil Gaiman, focusing on the narrative structure of the novel through the theoretical framework established by Jungian analyst Maureen Murdock, based on the concept of the Heroine’s Journey. By highlighting the structural interconnections between the narrative and the stages of the Heroine’s Journey, this study aims to examine the novel’s narrative architecture, while also emphasizing the relevance of the dialogue between different fields of knowledge – the Literary Theory and the Analytical Psychology – in order to achieve a broader understanding of the literary corpus and to expand the horizons of artistic creation and analysis.
