Abstract

This paper aims at analyzing the narrativity of Syrian War coverage by the American newspaper The New York Times. We try to demonstrate, making use of a narrative perspective based on the theories of Tzvetan Todorov (1970), that the same narrative order described by the author is present in the way the press describes the conflict. We believe that, although the structure described by the author is related to fiction, it constitutes a form of knowledge that also shapes the way we deal with and understand our reality and experience.
