This article aims to demonstrate how myths can build relationships with contemporary works. Starting from the studies and concepts defined by the Romanian mythologist Mircea Eliade, Carola Saavedra’s (2018) work Com armas sonolentas is analyzed, and we conclude that it approaches the mythological narrative due to many aspects, such as supernatural characters, ritualizations, a passage of non-historical and cyclical time and, finally, the central theme of the work that connects directly with the very definition of myth: these arch for understanding the origin.Downloads
