Asociación entre funciones ejecutivas y problemas de comportamiento: una revisión integrativa de literatura

Resumen

Los problemas emocionales / conductuales se pueden clasificar como internalizantes, que comprenden trastornos con síntomas ansiosos, depresivos y somáticos; y externalización, que se refieren a trastornos con síntomas impulsivos, disruptivos y por consumo de sustancias. En cuanto a las funciones ejecutivas, son habilidades fundamentales para el éxito, ya sea en la escuela o en la vida, que promueven y organizan comportamientos dirigidos a metas. Esta revisión de la literatura propuso analizar las publicaciones que correlacionan estos dos temas, con el fin de sintetizar cuidadosamente la evidencia disponible en los últimos 5 años e indicar posibles direcciones para futuras investigaciones. La información se obtuvo en septiembre de 2020 de las bases de datos de Pubmed, con los siguientes descriptores: “funciones ejecutivas y problemas de conducta”, “funciones ejecutivas y problema de conducta”, “función ejecutiva y problemas de conducta” y “función ejecutiva y problemas de conducta”. , identificando 98 artículos en inglés desde 2015. De estos, se excluyeron 15 artículos repetidos. A partir de ello, se realizó una selección mediante la lectura de los títulos, excluyendo trabajos cuyos participantes tuvieran algún diagnóstico previo o condición asociada a disfunciones ejecutivas o problemas emocionales / conductuales, quedando 20 artículos relacionados específicamente con la temática de esta investigación. De los 20, 10 fueron excluidos tras la lectura del resumen, ya que también tratan de niños con patologías asociadas, como, por ejemplo, epilepsia o trastorno por déficit de atención con hiperactividad. Quedaron 10 artículos seleccionados y analizados. Se concluyó que existe evidencia sobre la relación entre estas variables y en la literatura, lo que indica que las FE juegan un papel importante en la regulación emocional, lo que refuerza la importancia de que las evaluaciones amplias se realicen de manera precoz, ya que la identificación de deficiencias en las funciones y la presencia de problemas emocionales / conductuales permite realizar esfuerzos en materia de prevención, además del desarrollo de estrategias de intervención.
