MANAGERIAL SKILLS ADMINISTRATION AND THE CONTRIBUTION OF ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING– THE EXPERIENCE OF THREE AUSTRALIAN COMPANIES

Abstract

Having in mind the competitive scenario and the need for managerial development to accompany and to generate the wished changes in the organizational environment, many companies start to rethink their competencies management. In this new context, the traditional practices of training seem to be inappropriate to the new organizational necessity. This paper presents the Organizational Learning as a strategy that intends to develop managerial competencies based on some principles as: interaction, articulation and collective practices. The research presents some practices that were observed in three Australian companies. These practices emphasize the collective conscience witch is represented by governmental initiatives and the formal and informal practices.
