INCLUSION AND GENDER EQUITY IN BRAZILIAN OIL & GAS SECTOR CAREERS
Keywords:

This qualitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional study analyzes the perceptions of women working in the Brazilian oil and gas sector regarding organizational policies and practices aimed at gender inclusion and equity in both onshore and offshore settings. The research was approved by a Research Ethics Committee, and data were collected through semi-structured interviews and a sociodemographic questionnaire, totaling nine participants. The findings indicate that although institutional initiatives exist, they are predominantly formal, lacking measurable goals and robust monitoring mechanisms. Challenges persist concerning career progression, representation in leadership positions, offshore working conditions, and experiences of harassment, all of which impact mental health and female retention. Despite the inherent limitation regarding statistical generalization, the results provide relevant insights for future research and for strengthening policies aligned with the UN 5thSDG.References
