Abstract

This article analyzes the construction of paternal memory in autobiographical Instagram posts, based on the profile of Thiago Queiroz. Drawing on Lejeune, Smith and Watson, Van Dijck, and Casadei, it discusses how the relationship between image, caption, and self-representation turns everyday experiences of fatherhood into public narrative. It argues that these posts do not merely record lived experiences, but produce an affective and socially legitimized memory of the caring father, highlighting Instagram’s role in shaping fatherhood as an intimate, narrative, and media-mediated experience.
