DIVERSIFICAÇÃO E QUALIDADE DAS EXPORTAÇÕES DE MANUFATURADOS NO COMÉRCIO MUNDIAL
Abstract
The paper aims to analyze the composition of manufactured goods exports of 31 exporters to 26 importers in 2007 and 2014. We analyze the intensive, extensive and quality margins, proposed by Hummels and Klenow (2005), of the exported products classified by their predominant competitive factor. The results show that, in general, the United States, Germany, Japan, China and South Korea had above-average margins, different from Brazil with below-average results. Regarding the quality of exports, the United States, Germany and Japan presented higher margins than Brazil, China and South Korea. However, Brazil presented a significant evolution in the quality of exports of products from the technological frontier.
