A vitimidade como espaço de ambivalências

Migrantes negros na imprensa brasileira

Resumo

Investigam-se formas pelas quais migrantes negros são representados em jornais brasileiros, entre 2008 e 2019, em relação a raça, nacionalidade e graus de vitimidade. Empregam-se Análise Crítica do Discurso e Linguística de Corpus.  Resultados apontam que as representações sobre afro-migrantes são formuladas através de diferentes tropos. Alguns constroem migrantes negros como sujeitos explicitamente oprimidos e passivizados. Outros enfatizam um pouco mais a agência e a resistência desses migrantes. Ademais, a mídia brasileira recorre a um senso cultural de caridade, reinterpretando-a por intermédio de um tipo particular de pós-humanitarismo, segundo o qual piedade e justiça seriam equipotentes.
